FCA's client, and major energy trading and marketing organization in the Northeast, is currently seeking a Gas Scheduler for its growing business.
The Gas Scheduler is responsible for arranging (scheduling) the physical movement of natural gas after the gas trading desk enters into physical trades. The Gas Scheduler also monitors the overall physical trading position on the pipelines they are assigned to and advises the gas traders on options for balancing these positions.
This role requires developing a general understanding of the North American gas pipeline grid and detailed knowledge of individual pipeline systems and trading regions that the scheduler is assigned to. In addition to the actual scheduling function, the position plays a key role on the trading desk by providing information on pipeline conditions, constraints, costs of transporting, and other relative data that helps the traders interpret price movement in the physical and financial gas markets.
The Gas Scheduler utilizes both pipeline and internal scheduling systems to submit and track pipeline activity on a daily and monthly basis and must develop complete proficiency in both. Responsibilities also include working closely with the settlement, volume management and other support teams to ensure the physical business is settled and captured accurately each month.
Our client is looking for a self starter with the following requirements.
: Bachelor's Degree preferred
: One to two years of natural gas scheduling experience with a trading organization
: Excellent proven performance in their current and prior positions
: Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
